MMA and Boxing Sports – Enjoy Both the Fight!
We often hear the fans of boxing and mixed martial arts discoursing and debating which of the sports are the best. This is an age-old debate that can go on forever without achieving a conclusion. So, if you are you going to ask our opinion for the possibility of gaining a new supporter or critic for either of the game, we suggest that you keep the question to yourself because you will be greatly disappointed.
Both games are packed with action, fun, and thrill, so why not enjoy them both? St-Pierre and Pacquiao are both great fighters, so why favour one and distastefully discriminate the other like a grade A loser?
Well, while you might have a valid reason for having a biased opinion for either boxing or mixed martial arts, there are definitely a lot of reasons why you should be a follower of both games. Not to mention, these two combat sports are satisfying our own desire to compete, to win, to fight, and to get knocked down and fight again without actually taking the punches and the blows. So, if you are truly a sports enthusiast at heart, give yourself a favour by enjoying boxing and MMA sports without comparing one from the other.
If you insist, however, that we share our views about the issue on hand, well then, let us take a closer look at the arguments of the clashing MMA and boxing fans.
MMA fans argue that boxing is nothing compared to their chosen game. For one thing, mixed martial arts combine various combat fighting techniques from around world to create an eclectic mix of defensive and offensive strategies. While boxing simply uses the fist and arm area as points of attack and defence, limiting a fighter’s defences and offenses to the punches he throws and the blows he parries.
Boxing followers, on the other hand, say that MMA is a sport for brawlers, where sportsmanship is seldom seen and discipline is seldom heard of among its fighters.
These arguments are no doubt has very little truth to them, but that does not make them really valid. Boxing fighters are no losers and MMA champions are not street kids who do not follow the rules. MMA promotional companies such as UFC and IFL, and sanctioning organisations like WBO are established to set standards for the sports.
And as to the claim that boxers are less of a fighter than mixed martial artists, well then, take a look at the skill set of the former. While those fighting in the MMA are equipped with knowledge on various fighting strategies, boxers are trained for power, speed, and stamina, plus the mental discipline and focus, which enable them to deliver a competitor unconscious with just a single well-targeted punch.
So unless, you have fought with an MMA fighter or have actually defeated a boxer, let the rest engage in a pointless argument and just enjoy both the fight. And as you do so, bookmark this site to get the latest boxing updates and the hottest MMA updates, as well as to find helpful information about the combat sports.
